Cameras have been installed in roads around Wormholt with letters sent out to non-residents to warn them.
The council says more than 80% of vehicles using Wormholt are commuters cutting through between the A40 and Uxbridge Road.
The 18-month trial aims to reduce congestion, noise and pollution while improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
