Officers were called in the early hours to reports of a stolen vehicle in Esher.
They were able to hunt the suspect down with the help of the owner, who was tracking the vehicle on their phone.
It ended when the driver parked the vehicle in Waitrose car park; officers detained them and took them into custody.
