A serving Metropolitan Police officer appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court yesterday charged with sexual assault.

Detective Constable Jose Poonsawat, attached to Central South Command, pleaded guilty and was released on bail.

He will appear for sentencing on 23^rd August.

The off-duty incident occurred in December 2022.
