A serving Met Police officer is due at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today charged with a sexual offence.

Detective Constable Jose Poonsawat is attached to the Central South Command Unit.

The hearing relates to an incident while he was off duty in December 2022.

He is currently on restricted duties.
