That’s according to The Swan Sanctuary in Shepperton which says it has responded to incidents as far away as Essex.
One swan was shot with “a large ball bearing from a catapult” in Kingston over the new year.
The Mute swan is known as the “Royal Bird” and it is criminal offence to harm them or damage their nests or eggs.
