A new study by the University of Surrey claims there’s an opportunity to revolutionise plastic recycling across Europe.

This would mean the plastic often used to package fruit and vegetables, which can’t be recycled, finally can be.

Researchers found increasing the scale of recycling of these classes of plastic can make it economically viable.

It’s been called essential for reducing the carbon footprint, as Europe is the world’s second-largest plastic producer.
