Surrey’s Big Poetry Weekend ’26 is launching on the 1st and 2nd of August at the Egham Literary Institute.
Created by the volunteer-led Surrey Poet Laureateship, the festival will bring together nationally recognised poets, celebrated Surrey voices, emerging performers and complete newcomers for a packed weekend of performances, workshops, panels, talks, open mics and community meet-ups.
The Laureateship has grown rapidly in just two years, delivering eight free Poetry Hubs across Surrey, creating more than 5,000 poetry engagements, building over 20 partnerships, and welcoming 200+ open mic performers to the stage.
