Charlotte Dyer’s three and a half month old son Ruben died last year after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy.
Cardiomyopathy is a general term for diseases of the heart muscle, where the walls of the heart chambers have become stretched, thickened or stiff.
She’s so far raised £140,000 for research into the disease and is hoping to secure another £60,000.
“Ruben’s Fund” collects money for The Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals to fund research into cardiomyopathy.
The winners of this year’s Pride of Britain awards will be announced on Friday.
