A Metropolitan Police officer who was fined £1,500 for the assault of a woman he wrongly arrested on a bus in Croydon has had his conviction quashed.

She was accused of fare dodging in front of her son last June.

A trial heard that PC Perry Lathwood grabbed her by the arm, causing bruises.

He remains on restricted duties pending the outcome of police misconduct proceedings.
