A man’s been convicted of murder after he was identified via DNA on a cigarette discarded at the scene in Thornton Heath.

29 year old Zak Baako has been found guilty of offences including the murder of 27-year-old Michael Patrick Afonso Peixoto.

Micheal was found with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead in Mayfeild Crescent at 11:30pm on the 19th of December.

Zak’s has been found guilty of murder and robbery and his friends, John Budal of manslaughter and robbery and Omari Peat of robbery.

All three men will be sentenced at the Old Bailey in January.
