Officers were alerted to a vehicle driving at high speed which failed to stop when asked.
Continuing along Purley Way and onto side streets near Brighton Road, the vehicle eventually crashed and the driver fled.
They were found hiding under a nearby vehicle before being arrested and eventually found to be wanted in connection to sexual offences.
