A man has submitted an application for a war hero to be recognised with a blue plaque in Wimbledon.

Alex Lawrence wants it placed on Victoria Cross recipient Arthur Scarf’s former home in Dunmore Road where he was born in 1913.

Scarf was awarded the most prestigious decoration for his role as a Royal Air Force pilot in The Pacific War.

Alex tells Jackie News about the next steps once the application has been considered by English Heritage.
