Officers spotted a grey Ford Ranger Wildtrak being driven in a “dangerous” manor on Sunday night.
They requested it pull over which it didn’t and then collided with another vehicle before the driver fled the scene.
A man in his 20s presented at a police station earlier this week.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and failing to stop after a road accident.
He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Police are urging anyone who saw what happened, or captured anything on dash cam, CCTV or mobile phone to come forward.
