A 27 year old man was stabbed on Stafford Road on Christmas Eve.
The emergency services treated him at the scene and took him to hospital.
A 22 year old male suspect was identified on Christmas day and was subsequently arrested.
Officers recovered a large zombie knife and another small knife upon his arrest.
He has been interviewed and released on bail to return at a later date.
