It is alleged the victim was racially abused and spat at after a verbal altercation at around midday on Monday.
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and common assault and has been bailed.
Officers are urging any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact them on 101.
