Rocco Palumbo was arrested on Monday (14/10), and later charged under the Sexual Offences Act of 2003.
The investigation took place after Palumbo allegedly made contact and arrangements to meet someone described as a 13-year-old boy on social media.
The 61-year-old was remanded in custody at Staines Magistrates Court on Wednesday and will appear at Guildford Crown Court on 15th November.
