A man from Walton-on-Thames who hoped to kayak around Britain in the fastest time has told the BBC his world record attempt is over.

Mike Lambert, who is a 33 year-old physiotherapist, began the challenge that spans over 3,000 kilometres from West Sussex in June.

However unruly weather and difficult currents have meant beating the current record of 40 days is now impossible according to Mr Lambert.

Mr. Lambert has undertaken the challenge to fundraise in honour of his late mother, Caroline, for those impacted by Aortic Dissections.
