There were six engines and 40 personnel at the scene on Parma Crescent, with a dog and two cats rescued.
Part of a converted loft went on fire on the two-storey house, with a 32-metre turntable ladder deployed to fight it from above.
The cause of the fire is under investigation from the brigade.
