The vehicle, which had a “P” probationary plate on it, was filmed on the tracks by the level crossing at around 7pm.
Images appear to show a train coming towards the car from the other direction but no injuries were reported.
A BTP spokesperson said:
“Officers were called to the line near Raynes Park railway station at around 7.15pm on Saturday following reports that a car had become stuck on a level crossing.
“Officers attended alongside colleagues at the Metropolitan Police Service and were able to remove the car.”
