Paramedics were called to Critten Lane, near the junction with St Teresa’s School, on Sunday afternoon at around 1 o’clock.
There were no other vehicles involved.
The man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries and any witnesses are being urged to come forward with information.

Were you driving in the area around this time? We would like to speak to anyone who has CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage capturing all, or part of what happened. We are especially interested in tracing the movements of the cyclist, who was riding a green Bianchi bike, prior to the collision.
