A court’s heard a former soldier escaped from Wandsworth prison last week by strapping himself to a lorry using material that may have been made from bed sheets.

21 year-old Daniel Khalife’s appeared before magistrates accused of fleeing Wandsworth jail.

He was captured while riding a bike along a canal towpath in Northolt on Saturday.

He’s been remanded in custody to appear in court again at the end of the month.
