A consultant surgeon at St George’s Hospital in Tooting has been talking about the effects knife crime is having on staff.

Over 500 patients have turned up at A&E over the last year with blade and sharp object related injuries.

That’s almost double the figure recorded in 2022 and the hospital has now installed a secure bin so knives can be dropped off anonymously.

Surgeon, Cleo Kenington, tells Jackie News prevention is the best way forward.
