A company in Richmond has had to pay the Environment Agency more than £2,000 in investigation costs after it broke recycling rules.

The Orange Square failed to officially register the packaging waste it produced over a four-year period and didn’t pay any fees relating to it.

Companies with a turnover of more than £2 million and handling more than 50 tonnes of packaging must do this.

Orange Square missed more than £7,000 in payments and has now given a similar amount to Surrey Wildlife Trust to improve habitats.
