Four flights in total have been affected with the Poland bound one making an unscheduled landing in Warsaw.

The flight from Heathrow to Warsaw-Chopin Airport made an unscheduled landing at the Polish capital’s other airport, Modlin.

The airport was temporarily closed for investigations.

Spanish officials have confirmed a Ryanair plane from Manchester to Murcia airport also faced a threat, while Bulgarian media reported a flight from Israel landed in the capital Sofia after a bomb threat was received by email.

The incidents come just a day after a Wizz Air flight from Luton made an emergency landing in Budapest following a similar threat.

Wizz Air said security checks had been made and nothing was found.
