A camera monitoring HGVs movements is being installed in Oxshott following a safety campaign from residents.

Federation of Oxshott Residents and Associations gained more than 800 signatures for their petition.

Residents said a night time ban introduced on heavy goods vehicles three years ago was not being enforced.

Surrey County Council says one automatic number plate recognition camera will now be installed at the Copsem Lane end of the A244.
