Children with learning disabilities in Surrey are set to benefit from a new NHS-funded eye care service in special schools.

Leatherhead based charity, SeeAbility will provide eye tests, glasses and specialist support.

The service is part of a South East rollout that could reach 40,000 children.

Research shows youngsters with learning disabilities are 28 times more likely to have sight problems.

But over 4 in 10 have no history of eye care.
