The Environment Agency has confirmed the presence of potentially toxic bacteria.
Health experts say you should not swim in water with a blue-green algae bloom as it can release dangerous toxins.
The stretch of the River Thames was designated as London’s first official river bathing water site in May.
Richmond Council says:
▪️ Do not swim or paddle in affected areas until further notice
▪️ Keep dogs out of the water
▪️ Avoid contact with visible algae near the riverbank
