Plans to bring in stricter checks on houses of multiple occupation in Reigate and Banstead are being put out for public consultation.

The council wants new rules so homes being turned into house-shares for three to six people, known as HMOs, would need planning approval.

It says the changes would help make sure properties are suitable and prevent issues for neighbours and  communities.

Residents, landlords and property owners can share their views until the 24th of September via the council’s website.
