A Met officer is due to appear in court charged with two counts of rape and one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Inspector Jason Wu, attached to Met Detention and based at Colindale, will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The charges relate to offences against a woman in August 2019 and October 2021. Allegations were first reported in June 2022 and an investigation was launched by Met detectives working in public protection.

Following further enquiries, the case was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service which authorised charges. A postal charge and requisition was served on Friday, the 15th of May.

Insp Wu is suspended from duty.
