The double Ballon D’or winner announced last month he’d been diagnosed with stage four cancer.
He enjoyed a playing career with Scunthorpe, Liverpool, Hamburg, Southampton and Newcastle and scored 21 goals in 63 appearances for his country.
His family say he was a “much loved husband, father and grandfather”.
After managing Fulham for two seasons, Keegan took charge of the England national team in February 1999. However, he resigned in October 2000, following a 1–0 loss against Germany in qualification for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
