London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan has been named as one of 26 new members of the House of Lords.

Former Unison general secretary Christina McAnea, and broadcaster June Sarpong have also been appointed to the Labour benches.

Former civil service chief Sir Chris Wormald, who was sacked earlier this year by the Prime Minister, and retired judge Sir Brian Leveson will sit on the Crossbench.
