In order to qualify for the accolade, councils must show a range of commitments.

Lambeth has been praised for a number of pledges including removing ‘No Ball Games’ signs from roads and on estates.

More than 200 council staff and 63% of elected members of the authority have also received children’s rights training.

Lambeth joined the UNICEF programme in 2021.

It developed its child-friendly action plan following consultation with more than 1,500 children and young people.
