Major British retailers have been caught marketing e-scooters for the purpose of ‘commuting’.

That’s despite privately owned ones being banned from public spaces.

10 people were killed and more than 1000 were injured in e-scooter collisions last year.

In 2022, 19-year-old Reuben Abakah was hit by a tram in Croydon while riding an e-scooter, and died in hospital three days later.

Trials of rentals have been taking place in some areas though.
