Merton Council says creating more “pocket parks” is the answer to combating the scourge of fly tipping.

These green sites are usually very small, like the size of a parking space, and there are already 20 across the borough.

The council says pocket parks have been shown to help prevent fly-tipping by making spaces look managed and cared for.

Residents are now being urged to nominate more locations that could be transformed with fly tip hotspots being prioritised.
