Esher and Walton MP Monica Harding raised concerns in Parliament after sewage was reported in Thames Ditton during recent flooding.

Human waste entered two homes and spread to a local primary school after heavy rainfall.

The government says it will investigate the incident.

Thames Water says the sewer system was overwhelmed by exceptional rainfall and that the affected pipe has since been cleaned.
