It’s understood Ofwat’s board of directors will hold talks this week about a potential multibillion-pound rescue of Thames Water.

There are renewed fears among the company’s creditors it’ll be forced to file for administration.

A proposal to inject 10-billion pounds of equity into the firm could be rejected and lead to nationalisation.

Thames Water serves more than 15 million customers.
