24-year-old Callum Murphy was arrested after police were called to a report of a man with a knife on the High Street in October 2025.
Officers detained him following a short foot chase and recovered a bloodstained cardboard sheath and carrier bags nearby.
He was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court with police warning they will take robust action against knife crime.
