Two people have been spotted trying to put a pair of domesticated ducklings into the River Thames at Ham.

They were watched over the Easter weekend by a member of the public who later took the birds to The Swan Sanctuary.

The charity, which has named the ducklings Cagney and Lacey, says they would not have survived in the wild,

It’s reminding people that abandoning a bird in the UK is a criminal offence and it also puts extra strain on wildlife centres.
