It’s so phase two of Mole Valley District Council’s refurbishment project can be carried out.
Outdated mechanical and electrical systems will be replaced, ventilation upgraded and a new stage and lighting installed.
The building was previously closed between June and December 2024 for the first phase of modernisation.
The project is estimated to be costing over £9 million.
Councillor Nick Wright, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Community Assets said: “Dorking Halls is a much loved venue and these upgrades and refurbishments will ensure it can continue serving our community for decades to come. The Halls will be the largest, and arguably one of the most important, community-owned cultural facility in East Surrey, and it is vital that we hand this wonderful asset over to the new Unitary Council in the best possible condition, ensuring a long-term sustainable future.”
