Catalytic converter thefts are rising across North Surrey, with thieves targeting the precious metals inside.

Police say these crimes can take less than a minute and affect hybrids and other vehicles alike.

They are advising parking in well-lit areas, using locks or guards, marking your converter, and installing CCTV.

Surrey Police officers say if you see a theft in progress, do not approach, move to safety and call 999 immediately.
