A new stream habitat is to be created on Streatham Common.

It’s after Lambeth Council was awarded £215,000 to improve parks and green spaces across the borough.

The cash, from the Mayor of London, will help bring the “buried” stream to the surface on the border of Hilly Four Acres.

The brook marked an old parish boundary with Croydon and currently runs through a buried pipe about 60cm beneath the surface.
