Researchers at the University of Surrey have developed flexible solar panels using carbon nanotubes instead of fragile, expensive material.

The panels stay highly efficient after a month in heat or sun and lose very little power when bent.

They could also be made much cheaper, saving around £160 per square metre, and are better for the environment.

Professor Wei Zhang says the new panels could soon be used in gadgets, homes, and buildings.
