Croydon Council has stockpiled 4,000 tonnes of salt and 578 bins to treat roads, pavements, town centre paths during icy weather.

Eight gritters will treat main roads and busy paths, while flood-prone Caterham Drive in Coulsdon has been cleared to reduce flooding.

The council is investing £14.5 million in highway maintenance this year to improve roads, footways, and bridges.

Residents can help by using local salt bins and reporting blocked drains, potholes, or empty bins via the app Love Clean Streets.
