Kingston Council has marked White Ribbon Day which is aimed at tackling violence against women and girls.

Council officers and White Ribbon Ambassadors gathered at the Guildhall which was lit up in orange to kick off 16 Days of Activism.

Talks, yoga, and dance sessions for women were held this week, ahead of a “We Speak Up” day today.

Councillor Sabah Hamed says the authority is committed to a safer borough and ending violence against women and girls.
