New sensors from the University of Surrey captured the intense solar radiation thought to be interfering with the A320s software.

A huge solar flare on the 11^th of November caused radiation levels to spike, reaching almost ten times normal at typical flight heights.

The Surrey sensors tracked the storm in real time, even up to private jets and supersonic planes.

The Uni says the information will help the Met Office better protect airplanes and important systems from future solar storms.
