Surrey Police was called to an incident in Steels Lane just after midday.
There are currently three fire and rescue vehicles and three officers in attendance.
Surrey Police says the incident involved the mixture of two ingredients used for swimming pools which has created a “chlorine cloud” in the area.
Although the incident is now over, and people can open their doors and windows again, we are told there is likely to be a fire and rescue presence for the rest of the day.
