Hundreds more secondary pupils will get free school meals, and Reception and Year 7 children can get up to £170 in uniform vouchers.
The council now also covers school trip transport and has “unlocked” £1.25 million in funding for the 705 children missing out on free meals.
The authority says programmes like the Apple Schools initiative and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library continue to support learning and literacy.
