Shoppers were treated to a surprise re-enactment of King Athelstan’s coronation parade bringing history to life.
The parade marked the crowning of England’s first king, held 1,100 years ago near Kingston’s old river crossing.
The event kicked off Kingston 2025, a six-month celebration of the areas culture and heritage.
