Monthly collections jumped from 391 tonnes in 2023 to 1,482 tonnes in 2024.

The council says this means six times more food waste recycling now creates renewable energy instead of being incinerated.

Meanwhile a new garden waste collection service has “flourished” with more than 600 residents now subscribed.

Cllr Sharon Holder, H&F Cabinet Member for Public Realm, said: “Thank you to our recycling champions – your fantastic efforts help us save taxpayer money while keeping our borough clean and green.”
