Hounslow Council says plans to knock down a parade of shops in Brentford will revitalise the town centre.

Funding to demolish Albany Parade and create another shopping area is coming from the GLA so work is due to commence imminently.

The Council is required to allocate 20% of the new retail floorspace to borough businesses with a 5-year discount on market rent.

But there is no automatic right for current Albany Parade tenants to move into the new units.

A Hounslow council spokesperson says they were given “fair opportunity to apply” for a unit.
